Lori Ann Slesinski Crimeline
June 10, 2006: Lori Slesinski spent time with her friend Rick Ennis and later called her friend at 6:30 to tell her she was on her way over. Lori stopped at Walmart (confirmed by CCTV) but never made it to her friend’s house.
June 11, 2006: Lori’s friend called and left messages on her answering machine, never getting a response.
June 12, 2006: Lori missed work.
June 13, 2006: Lori’s mother Arlene reported Lori missing after she hadn't been heard from in three days and had left her beloved dog behind.
June 14, 2006: Lori’s vehicle was found engulfed in flames at 4:41 in the morning.
2007: Rick Ennis's roommate gave three rugs to police, similar to the ones missing from Lori's home.
2016: The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation started a cold case unit and selected the unsolved disappearance of Lori Ann Slesinksi as their first case.
August 6, 2018: after new and existing evidence was tested, the police arrested Derrill Rick Ennis and charged him with murder 12 years after Lori disappeared.
April 1, 2022: After delays due to COVID-19 shutdowns, opening statements in the trial of Rick Ennis began.
April 14, 2022: Rick Ennis was found guilty of murdering Lori Ann Slesinski and sentenced to life in prison.
April 16, 2022: After the verdict and sentencing, Rick Ennis’s stepsister released a public statement letting the media know that Rick had killed his stepfather and mother, Eddie Joe and Linda “Dolly” Flowers, at the age of 12. He was released from the juvenile system at the age of 21 despite attempting two escapes.
Rick Ennis maintains his innocence. Lori Ann Slesinski’s remains have not been recovered.
