My thoughts:
One of the things that struck me about this case was something I’ve noticed about a lot of cases I’ve covered from the 1980s. Unless the family of the victim does a lot of interviews, the victim gets little coverage. It’s all about the defendant. In this case, the papers covered the sentencing without a single mention of any impact statements given. They only reported on what the convicted and his family said.
After the episode went public, I was contacted by a friend of Karen’s to thank me for the coverage, and it was nice to hear there are people still alive who remember her, love her, and miss her.
Thank you so much for listening!

When a woman was murdered in her apartment, the police told her neighbors to call in any tip they had, no matter how small it may seem. But when one man called in about a dream he had, he landed himself at the top of the suspect list.
This case is *unsolved*
